Joe A. Maciel Scholarship

In 1992 Officer Joe A. Maciel established a scholarship program to sponsor highs school seniors on their journey to higher education; the scholarship started with $200. Years later Amigos en Azul officially named the scholarship Joe A Maciel Scholarship to honor Joe A Maciel for his hard work and dedication to the organization. 

Over the years the program has rewarded over $200,000 to graduating high school seniors wishing to pursue a higher education. During 2023, we were able to raise $18000 during the golf tournament along with charitable donations;  Amigos en Azul was able to sponsor 12 students with $1500 each. 

The application to the Scholarship Program opens up every year on Jan 15th and closes on March 31st.
